Stanley & Livingstone boutique hotel, located near the iconic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, will reopen in April following an extensive refurbishment that cost around R90 million.
Touted as the first and only boutique hotel in Victoria Falls private game reserve, the Stanley & Livingstone has undergone a transformation in recent years, with the pandemic-induced pause on tourism allowing for an extensive refurbishment.
As part of the MORE Family Collection – the same group that owns Lion Sands game reserve in the Kruger National Park and Marataba safari lodge in Limpopo – the Stanley & Livingstone prides itself on luxury accommodation set against awe-inspiring natural backdrops.
The boutique hotel has 16 luxury suites and, located within the Victoria Falls private game reserve, is just a 10-minute drive from the falls. It features a private spa, gym, swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and restaurant with a terrace providing views of the nearby wildlife waterhole.
Each suite has a private terrace, en-suite shower and bath, air conditioning, and minibar.
The extensive refurbishment has been described as “fresh yet quintessentially historic” with the hotel’s reopening on 1 April coinciding with the best time to visit Victoria Falls, following the region’s summer rains.

The hotel also offers a guided Black Rhino safari experience, game drives, horse-riding, and tours of the falls, all for an additional cost.
Rates start from around R6,000 per person sharing per night, which includes accommodation and breakfast.
