I travelled to Victoria Falls without any prior bookings and needed a spot to crash. Friends had recommended Shoestrings Backpackers, especially if I was on a budget. I didn't know what to expect but I knew that I would be in the "happening spot" in the Falls. This was my first backpacker experience and it was actually better than okay. This place was a small community of people from different countries and was lively. Shoestrings has a bar, pool, wifi, good security and exceptionally helpful staff. The food was great. The downside is I had to get my own soap and towel but that was not a mission as the shopping centre is within walking distance. The Pros The staff are exceptionally helpful Value for money Friendly atmosphere Safe If you are looking for an energetic and value for money accommodation this is the place for you.
Love their cappuccino. Kimba and Robyn are always welcoming, Indaba is my favourite place to start the day! If you’re in Bulawayo looking for a spot to meet and enjoy delicious food, this is the place to come to. It's not a fancy spot, and it's not trying to be, I found it to be cosy, friendly staff, and overall great vibe. Highly recommended!
