African Sun is refurbishing three of its hotels in Zimbabwe: Troutbeck Resort, Carribea Bay Resort and Great Zimbabwe Hotel.
The three properties remain open as the refurbishments, costing US$25m, are being done in phases.
“We have commenced the refurbishment of Troutbeck Resort, Carribea Bay Resort and Great Zimbabwe Hotel, albeit at a much slower pace, as funding commitments and long-term planning have been hampered by the 20% foreign currency surrender, among others,” the company says.
Official timelines for the re-launch of the hotels will be announced soon.
Elephant Hills Resort, Holiday Inn Bulawayo and Hwange Safari Lodge also fall within African Sun’s portfolio.- Tourism Update
