New luxury lodge, the SkyDeck Mountain Retreat, will open this month in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands.
The lodge, perched on the edge of the Honde Valley escarpment, overlooks Mt Nyangani and can only accommodate a group of four guests travelling together at one time.
The rooms, made from eucalyptus and pine, offer 180-degree views of the vast mountain wilderness.
“With an outdoor shower, wood-fired hot-tub and views of Zimbabwe’s highest mountain caressed by a starry night sky, your evenings take romantic to a whole new level. A butler, a private chef and private guide are ready to make the adventure one that you will remember forever,” said a spokesperson from the hotel.
Demand for a unique luxury experience in the Eastern Highlands had driven the development of the lodge, added the spokesperson.
Activities include white-water rafting, tree canopy tour, hiking trails, mountain bike trails, guided birding walks, giant swing, tea factory tours, boat trips and village tours.
The Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe recently noted that new offerings showed the resilience of the local tourism operators and the continued confidence in destination Zimbabwe as an international tourism paradise of choice for people the world over. – Tourism Update
