Tshabalala Game Sanctuary is located roughly 10 km from Bulawayo city centre on the Matopos road. It is a wildlife sanctuary of thorny bushveld and hosts a variety of birdlife and wildlife. Some of them include lions, guinea fowl, francolins, giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala, tsessebe and other smaller antelope, and many species of wild birds and waterfowl.
Visitors are allowed to park their cars in Tshabalala and walk through the wilderness and experience the sights and sounds on foot. Driving and cycling are also permitted and horse rides can be arranged.
The Refreshment Centre is a Tshisa Nyama(Braai place) with a bar and restaurant. Braai packs are readily available on sale and the braai can be done for you.
Tshabalala Game Sanctuary is open from 06:00 to 18:00hrs and there is an entrance charge.
