Rowallan Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp that lies within the majestic Matobo National Park and is being developed for education, conservation and recreation. The camp lies 3km from the National Park’s main gate, at the base of the dominant Imadzi dwala between Sandyspruit Dam and the MOTH Shrine.

Only 45 minutes drive from the city of Bulawayo popularly known as the city of Kings and Queens, this tented camp is a reflection of Africa in its entire natural splendour. Visitors experience a rare sense of freedom and renewed inspiration while exploring the panoramic landscape, which provides a diverse selection of game and birdlife.

Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, backpackers, adventurous travellers and those wanting to experience the wild, Rowallan Camp offers you contact with nature and the outdoor comfort of a home away from home. As soon as you set foot in this captivating camp you will become imbued with the energy and excitement the Matobo hills exude.

Hospitality and etiquette are the flagships of traditional Ndebele culture and generally, everyone you’ll meet is friendly, kind, accommodating and so willing to initiate conversation.

Matobo Hills boasts of its human history, scenic wonders and wildlife diversity making it one of Zimbabwe’s most renowned tourist attractions and is, without doubt, one of the most astonishing natural world destinations.
