Halsted Safaris offers a first-class camping experience, a truly magnificent Zambezi River Safari done in true comfort and style. Situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Halsted Safaris offers fishermen luxury accommodation in the middle of the Nyakasanga area of Zimbabwe.
The safari camp itself sleeps a maximum of 8 people. There are 4 en suite chalets, each chalet accommodates 2 people and has its own private balcony with a spectacular view overlooking the wonders of the river.
There is a gorgeous swimming pool, main dining and entertainment area, braai area, an inside and outside kitchen area, as well as beautifully manicured and lush green gardens.
The safari camp runs on solar lighting and all chalets are fitted with solar geysers and solar ceiling fans which operate in the evenings. There is WiFi available in camp on a pay as you go system.
Fishing
With species such as the infamous tigerfish as well as other species, the Lower Zambezi is a prime location for keen fisherman to experience an exciting river catch.

Camp Location
Halsted Safaris Camp is based in the Zambezi Valley in an area called Mongwe, situated on the banks of the Lower Zambezi River in one of Zimbabwe’s most beautiful and exclusive wildlife conservancies known as the Nyakasanga.
The camp is approximately 20km downstream from Chirundu and 26km upstream from the Mana Pools National Park boundary.
The access road for Mongwe is on the right-hand side of the Harare Chirundu Road, a few kilometres before reaching Chirundu.

Fishing trips are organised daily. We havethree boats fully equipped for river fishing, each with 60HP, 4 stroke motors. Our boats are built for the Zambezi river and use approximately 25ltrs of petrol per day.
