Whether you are looking for a fun-filled break or for a slightly less pressured atmosphere to unwind, Bushman Rock is the ideal destination. Nestled in the granite outcrops above the Nyamasanga River, 40 minutes from Harare, the Lodge affords breath-taking views over the Bushman Rock. Hidden amongst tall indigenous trees, the thatched lodges offer complete privacy and seclusion.
The manicured gardens and rolling lawns provide the perfect setting for the quiet contemplation of nature. The surrounding Msasa woodland provides cool shade from which to watch the polo ponies in training or the wildfowl at play on the river. As our name suggests, the lodge affords stunning views of the valley and vineyards beyond. You may even glimpse antelope or giraffe feeding in the distant savannahs. If the strong African sun becomes too intense, you can cool down in the sparkling pool or grab a book from the library and relax under the trees.
Due to the lack of signal, your mobile phone may remain silent. The only message tone you will hear is the beating of the evening drums as they announce the serving of dinner. If something more than relaxing under a tree is required then our unique range of activities will ensure that all your action requirements are met.
Our lodges include private lounges and large king-size beds. We provide a personal oasis in which to relax and unwind. At Bushman Rock, we understand the strains of modern-day life. Our friendly staff, peaceful surroundings and personal service ensure your stay with us is as relaxing as possible.
Lying hidden within the picturesque Nyamasanga River Valley is Bushman Rock Estate Winery and Vineyard. It is currently the only boutique winery in Zimbabwe. Established in late 1930, the vineyards were originally planted with Italian varieties. Over the years the vineyards were moved away from the original varietals to more “noble French wine grape varieties.
A wide range of activities is on offer during your stay at Bushman Rock. Our wildlife reserve is over 7.5 square kilometres. We have 18 species of plains game and smaller mammals. Our safari options get you up close to species such as giraffe, buffalo and ostrich. The Nyamasanga River and Theo’s dam provide pristine clear waters ideal for canoeing, sundowner pontoon rides and fishing. The manicured vineyards and working Estate Winery provide tasty wine tasting options. For those more adventurous, the area abounds with Bushman Rock Paintings.
With a unique range of venues on offer, Bushman Rock Safaris is able to provide the ideal setting for any and every occasion. From intimate, private anniversary dinners to large corporate team-building events and weddings that accommodate up to 450 guests.
